“We often think feedback is for the student but actually it’s for the teacher.”

[#quoteoftheday] “We often think feedback is for the student but actually it’s for the teacher.”

This is why I appreciate questions, and feedback, even if it stings. And I love feedback more when it is delivered kindly.

In feedback, you see all the areas of your own teaching you need to tweak and adjust in order to help everyone else reach an outcome.

I cannot remember the exact source I came across this idea. But I like the philosophy and it stayed with me.

The responsibility to action the feedback isn’t the student’s alone: it’s more so the teachers.

Replace teacher with leader or manager or line manager and you have a similar recipe for growth.

In the feedback you can see where you need to adjust how you’re teaching / leading / managing.
