'Profitable' Skills for Success

Writer's picture: Sumbella Sumbella

[#learning + ‘profitable’ skills] These are some of the most profitable skills I’ve learned:

Writing

Facilitation

Teaching

Mandarin

The reason these are profitable for me isn’t because of money (though they bring this too), but it’s because,

Writing = more mental clarity.

Facilitation = more confidence.

Teaching = more empathy.

Mandarin = more perseverance.

I feel that learning and mastering skills is always of value.

It reminds me of a catchphrase that I always loved.

My best friend's father, #DilshatDada used to say:

"多学语言,多吃囊.”

…which roughly translates as:

“Learn more languages, eat more nan bread*.”

(*nan bread is a staple food of the Uyghurs with variations of it across Central Asia and South East Asia.)

Which skills have been the most valuable you've learned?
