[#quoteoftheday💬] “Often one inaccuracy becomes the seed of others, and reproduces trouble as the work proceeds.” – Charles Hayward
💭 Charles Hayward was talking about work and skills here, yet I think this also applies to learning, relationships, missed “bids” for attention, work based politics. And definitely #teaching:
For example, when I teach Chinese to new learners - if I don’t teach all the details of the correct way to write and understand a particular character the very first time it appears in the curriculum, it creates surprisingly varied kinds of trouble for a student during the rest of their learning journey in Mandarin. That student was me in the past.
It’s why I appreciate teachers, managers, mentors who take the time to swiftly, gently spot and give feedback on any inaccuracies, in the spirit of nudging you forward, helping you grow.

Enjoy. ✨
