“If you want to know who has control over you, look at who you are not allowed to criticise.”

[#quoteoftheday] “If you want to know who has control over you, look at who you are not allowed to criticise.” - Voltaire

Calling what is happening in Gaza a genocide is an understatement now. And it is not a war. This is not military to military combat. Have you ever seen a Palestinian in a military uniform? I’ve seen men in flip flops, jeans and dusty T-shirts pulling their children from rubble.

Yesterday, after 3 weeks of relentless air strikes, Jabaliya refugee camp had 6 tons of bombs targeted on it.

Last night, civilians in Gaza with nowhere to go had their internet cut off.

Again.

At which time, they were also bombed ruthlessly.

In the darkness.

I’m hearing that Yemen may have declared war on Israel, which could formally turn this into a regional war.

The urgency of the situation, the lack of ceasefire, the deafening silence, the brutalised dead babies, children, women, men, has finally answered my childhood question: how did the nazis get away with murdering all those people?

Again, I say #ceasefire. Again, I stand for an end to the occupation of Palestine.

Why? Because I’m seeing that a liberated Palestine means a liberated Israel. Both are under occupation.

These are my views. And when I read today’s quote, I recognise that to express them is an extraordinary privilege, and denotes a certain level of freedom. I don’t take this for granted.

P.S. a colleague shared this article, which, if you’re feeling like me, you may also find helpful: https://lnkd.in/dwdzRhns
