[#facilitationđ©đ»âđ«] Whatâs more impactful: online or in person workshops?
For me, the answer isnât always one or the other.
Like so many aspects of #facilitation, #teaching and #learning, there are variables and different factors that affect whether an online or in person experience would be more impactful.
In this video snippet from a recent episode of #TheInternationalClassroomPodcast with Alex Gray, I share an example of when I find it very efficient to do a workshop online vs in person: namely, for when I deliver Orientation Training for teachers using Cambridge University Press Educationâs books & resources. I also share some instances of when I love to do in person workshops.
đĄReflecting on my answer here (Alex - you kept me on my toes in this episode! đđŹđ) I would add that I think when one needs to train in certain skills like facilitation, or e.g. classroom management, or a hands on skill, in person is better: those types of sessions require a certain combo of theory + practice that is best done in person, with an active facilitator/coach, and with activities like role plays etc.
đđŹ#overtoyou: whatâs your view on this topic - is online or in person teaching always more impactful for a learning experience? Do you have a strong bent either way? This is a hot topic for me, and a nuanced one! Your insights are welcome and I invite you to share your ideas. đđŒ
(Pssst⊠while teachers wrap up their current AY and prep for the next, we are also preparing for the kind of #Orientation workshops I mention in the video. So for teachers using the new #PrimaryandLowerSecondaryResources in the new AY this August⊠Stay tuned - your #backtoschool training schedule is almost ready!) đđŒâšđ
